In the middle

February 27, 2009

This week at muck we have been doing  mesostics. You might ask yourself what on earth is a mesostic? I’ll tell you: mesostics are like acrostics but with the word in the middle. Here are some we made up.

the bumpiness of the rocks

are the limpets clinging on?

we shelter in the shed

while the rain hammers on the roof

This mesostic is about the pier this next one is about the mainland

Mountains on the mainland

animals hide under their rugged peaks

the Mallaig lifeboat rescues people

the mainland is noisy

alien compared to Muck

you are always spending money

looks tiny in the distance

i’m glad I live here.

That’s all we made up. Hope you enjoyed reading.   Bye

Mesostic poems

February 25, 2009

Today we have been learning about Mesostic poems they are quite like Acrostic poems except you dont put the word at the side of the sheet you put it in the middle.

We walked down to the pier and thought about different words that relate to the mainland or the pier.I chose to do the pier. We all thought up totally different mesostics and they were all good and exciting here is an example for mainland by Ben G:

Mallaig is very busy,

It’s a bit too energetic,

The docking harbour noise,

The annoying dinging of  boats,

Liking the food is hard,

Going to the cinema is fun,

Curries are nice on the mainland,

But I would rather stay here.

This is one of my pier Mesostics

Sticking out pale alone

Rolling birds circle above

Trails of slime down the side

Ohh what a very sorry sight
