The big fundraiser!

November 26, 2009

This week we had a fundraiser for Children in Need and our Christmas Party.

We had a bottle stall, a beetle drive and a raffle. Everyone had lots of fun and it went on until 10 o’clock.

We were having dinner at the party so people had made lots of lovely food. There was lasagne, spaghetti bolognaise and macaroni cheese – this was my favourite. There were lots of great tasting puddings. There was Bailey’s cheesecake (that was the one I liked most!), apple crumble, chocolate cake and kiwi pavlova. It all looked really good.

After that we had beetle drive where you have to draw beetles by throwing dice and then there was a raffle. There were loads of things to win. We won a gingerbread house and a sherbet dib dab but I haven’t made the gingerbread house yet!

We all had lots of fun and everybody loved it. We made over £270.

Our fundraising night

November 26, 2009

We had a beetle drive at school to raise money for Children in Need and our Christmas Party.

There was a raffle and we had supper and we also had a bottle stall. There was a big hamper of food in the raffle. Archie won lots of prizes in the raffle. We won the hamper!

There was lots amazing food. My favourtie was the macaroni cheese, it was lovely. For pudding I had kiwi pavlova, chocolate cake and a fairy cake – it was fantastic.

Next we had the beetle drive. It was great because everyone was involved. It was exciting to see everyone drawing beetles: funny beetles, strange beetles and lovely beetles. Alexander got a chocolate orange for the most beautiful beetle and Gwynneth chose Lawrence’s as the funniest beetle.

It was a fantastic night and I enjoyed every single bit of it.

Our Beetle Drive!

November 26, 2009

Last night we held a beetle drive in school to raise funds for Children in Need and our Christmas Party.

There was a raffle with lots of brilliant prizes and there was a bottle stall. I won a big hamper full of sweeties and other lovely things.

We had some supper altogether and there was spaghettie bolgonaise, bolognaise bake, pasta, lasagne and macaroni cheese. The food was good. The bolognaise bake was my favourite. Then there was pudding! I had some fairy cake, some chocolate cake and some pavlova – it was yummy!

Then it was time for the beetle drive. It was good fun and Gail won the prize for most points. For the weirdest beetle, Lawrence won a small lbox of chocolates and Alexander won a chocolate orange for the most beautiful beetle.

It was absolutely brilliant!

October 8, 2009

National bookweek 099This is the making of the BFG.  But will he stand up is another question.                           National bookweek 105

Painting an ork is not easy, especially when his arms and legs keep on falling off !

    National bookweek 106

Drawing a picture is a lot easier.  This is my favourite part of my encyclopedia.

This week was National Book Week and ………

October 8, 2009

I liked making a model of the BFG. My favourite book is ‘The Butterfly Lion’. I like when the boy first saw the butterfly lion.

My favourite book is  ‘Sophie is Seven’. I made a model of Sophie’s cat and painted it black and then left it to dry.

My favourite book is ‘Lord of the Rings’ – the ‘Two Towers’. My favourite character is Treebeard who is an elk which is a giant tree person. I really enjoyed making my model of an ork from in the book. The arms kept falling off.

My book is really good to read. .It is called ‘Three Goats Gruff and a Grumpy Troll’. Its good for little children to read. Its got lovely pictures as well.

I like ‘The Magic Pony’. Its a really good book. There is a picture in the book and it comes to life.

My favourite book is ‘The Dancing Bear’. Its got lovely pictures and there is a great deal of activity in it. It is a sad story. We were allowed to make three models out of a favourite book. Mine were the viking Flint Axe.and a viking longship and two types of viking money.

Premiere & back to normal

June 23, 2009

This week at Muck Primary we have just got back to normal school work. On Sunday we had the premiere for Aqua Bubble. It was really fun and was a great success. It was really good because we got to fill our faces with all the lovely food and drink. Everyone liked our film and guess what that means NO MORE FILMING OR DECORATING. I did enjoy making the film but it was starting to get very tiring and a little long. So this week we have had a normal week (so far) .We have been doing art in the garden, learning to play the whistle and of course maths reading and lots of writing. But guess what?its really sad this is probably the last time i’ll speak to you before I go to High School .

Ski-ing

March 17, 2009

This week the primary 7s have been away ski-ing at Aviemore.

We left on Monday and stayed at our accommodation for the night. Then in the morning we went to school to do a kit check. When we had got that out of the way we got our break. We got in the cars and left for Loch Insh(the ski-ing accommodation.)

We stopped a couple of times on the way for lunch. When we finally got there we relaxed and ate dinner and the ski instructor told us about what we would be doing the next day and what we would need for ski-ing.

After that we watched t.v and went to bed.  The next day we had breakfast and made our lunch and drove to the ski slopes. When we got there we went ski-ing, it was quite good snow but there was a lot of wind so it wasn’t as good as it could have been. By the end of the day we were shattered.

When we woke the next day we went to the slopes again and had some quite  good ski-ing but it was windier and we couldn’t go to the top of the mountain. So we went lower down. But it was icy and it was still good fun.The very same day we headed back to Arisaig and got back at around 7 o’clock,  had dinner and went to bed.

The next day we got on the boat and went home to Muck to find we were doing things for Comic Relief so the rest of the school day was dedicated to eating cakes, singing and giving donations. That was fun too(I ate too many cakes) Bye for now.
